Dear Mr. Smith:
The purpose of this letter is to convey my apologies for the inconvenience the company incurred last week in respect to the delivery of chocolates. I had returned from vacation and was given a report on which clients get the imported chocolates. I somehow overlooked the report and sent the imported chocolates to the wrong client. The only explanation for this error is that, in the past few months we have had new employees. These staff and policy changes have resulted in the order report being overlooked.
I would like to inform you that this oversight will not happen again. I plan on having the order reports placed in a central position to avoid a repetition on the same incident. I also plan on working harder to improve company sales.
Sincerely,
John Reynolds
