By | December 29, 2014

A rejection of donation letter is a letter which is written by a person or company to reject a request for donation for a certain cause or event. The letter must be polite but should clearly and honestly state the reason for rejection. A sample of a rejection of donation letter is given below and can be used for reference.

Date: 5th June 2014

Subject: Rejecting your donation request for your old age home

Dear Mr. Mathews

I, Jack Dawson am writing this letter to you in response to your request for donation letter that I received on 4th June 2014. I am really sorry but I cannot accept your request and would not like to donate money for the old age home due to certain reasons.

Honestly speaking, I am rejecting your request because I have been associated with a few other old age home charities before and it had come to my notice that the money donated wasn’t being used for the welfare of the old persons but for personal use. I do not mean that the same would happen in your case but I am wary of making such donations where I cannot be sure where my money is going. I hope you understand my reason and do not send me any letters after this.

Anyway, thanks for your offer and request.

Jack Dawson
