Lease Extension Agreement Letter

By | November 18, 2014

A lease extension agreement letter is a type of a letter which is written by one of the parties in a lease agreement to another in order to lay down the terms of extension of that lease arrangement. Such a letter must be formal in tone and structure. A sample is given below for reference.

Sample lease extension agreement letter:

To,

Fred Markson

LESSEE

D-56, second floor, Sunrise building

Henderson Lane

London, United Kingdom

Date: 23rd May 2014

Subject: lease extension agreement letter

Dear Mr. Markson,

I, Greg Anthony, the LESSOR in the lease agreement formed between us am writing this letter to you to lay down the terms of the lease extension that was discussed between us a week back. I have formulated a formal agreement and would like to briefly explain its main points to you.

As requested, the lease would be extended for a period of 12 months from 1st July 2014 onwards, the date of the original lease termination. This means that the new date of expiry of lease for the property situated at D-56, second floor, Sunrise Building is 1st July 2015.  All the other terms and conditions of this new extended lease agreement would remain the same with an only minor change that you will now be allowed to sublease the apartment to a third party but only after permission from me.

Please find the enclosed formal contract and sign it at the earliest so that I can take care of the legal aspects.

Thanking you

Greg Anthony
