An excuse absent letter is one that is written by a person who has absented from school, college

or work due to some unavoidable circumstances. The letter has to be written in a polite tone by giving reason and excuse for absence. It is best to refer to a sample excuse absent letter written by a student to class teacher which is provided below.

Sub : Excuse absent letter

Respected Ma’am,

I am hereby writing this letter to intimate my absence from school from the 20th of June till date on account of the sudden demise of my grandfather. My grandparents live in the state of Cumbria which is quite far from the place where we live. On receiving information of the demise of my grandfather we had to leave suddenly for Cumbria and were left with no time to intimate this information to the school in any way.

As my father is the only child for my grandparents we had to rush to the city to help and support my grandmother in every possible way. Also on account of the funeral rites and all other formalities which my father has to finish we have not been able to come back to our home. I am therefore writing this letter to excuse for my absence from school.

I kindly request you to inform our principal also regarding my absence. My parents will come and meet the principal once we are back.

Thanking You.

Yours sincerely,

Norton Newman
