Cover Letter Tips

  1.
    1. Keep it Simple: Keep your cover letter simple. Avoid flashy language and formatting. The content of the letter matters more than its appearance or language. Communicate your ideas clearly. Many employers like honest and genuine letters. Avoid using pretentious phrases that have almost become clichés.
    2. Keep it brief: The person reading your cover letter is probably going through thousands of similar letters for the same position. He or she will not have the patience to read a long redundant letter. Get straight to the point. Express your ideas briefly and clearly.
    3. Sell yourself: Show your prospective employer that he would be lucky to get you. Highlight all your attributes and how they can help the organization.
    4. Adjust your cover letter to suit the needs of the employer: Find out all you can about the organization, its policies and characteristics. Portray yourself in light with its strengths. Show that your abilities are what the organization needs to improve or meet its targets.
