An Appreciation letter is a form of thank you letter. Where the thank you letter is written in personal situations, the Appreciation letter is written in business or professional situations.

Appreciation letter should be above all else, sincere. It should be well-written as well as specific in its appreciation of a particular effort or achievement.

For example, the Employee Appreciation letter could be the recognition of a particular individual’s contribution to the company. It is a way of acknowledging the employee for the good work done.

The letter should be precise and brief without being flowery and rambling.

The Appreciation letter can include any positive remarks or feedback received from other quarters for the individual.

The letter should preferably be addressed to a particular person, say in the instance of a Business Appreciation letter; it can be addressed to the Manager. This makes the letter more effective.

The tone of the letter can be informal while conveying warmth and sincerity.

The letter should close with sincere regards and best wishes for continued good work.

An Appreciation letter can bring forth positive changes as it helps in motivating and encouraging good work and efforts. An appreciation letter can help build a positive environment suitable for growth.
