Dear Mr. Menon,

I want to express my deepest apologies for being absent during your wedding ceremonies.  I know that I have a special role in the wedding as one of the witnesses you have chosen and I am sorry for not being there.  I told you earlier that I would be able to attend the event and I did make sure that I would have no schedule on the date.  However, an important company meeting was scheduled just a week before the wedding and I was not able to find a replacement for me.  Aside from this, my presence during the meeting could not be compromised since we would be signing a business deal as a result of the meeting.  I do hope that you had a happy wedding and that everyone else you invited was there.  Best wishes to you and your husband and may you have a wonderful life together.

All the best,

Mr. Tavish Jha
